MADRAS RFC  35  V  CARNOUSTIE  43

Carnoustie travelled to St Andrews hoping to open their points account. With a much changed team Carnoustie kicked off by failing to clear the ten metre line. They won the resultant scrum and scrum half Michael Jamieson spotted a gap to race through to touch down. With conversion added by Andrew Burgess. The home side quickly retaliated to break forward and be awarded a penalty try. Carnoustie attacked again and sent winger Mitchell Whyte over to touch down. Before half time he touches down twice more with two conversions added by Andrew Burgess. On half time winger Mark McQueen touched down with conversion added.  Madras kept themselves in the game with a second converted try.

 

In the second half Carnoustie added two unconverted tries by Michael Jamieson and Mark McQueen. Madras had the better of the half with three converted tries.
